In addition, industry, especially high-tech processing and manufacturing industry, will help transform the economic structure of the district, create great added value and create jobs for the people.
Promote investment attraction
Phu Giao district planning to 2040 has determined the development roadmap towards urban industry and agricultural services. In which, high-tech agricultural production plays a key and sustainable role with a balance between economy, society and environment. To increase the proportion of industry in the economic structure, the district has focused on developing industrial clusters to attract investment.

Tam Lap Commune is known as a leading locality in industrial development with the establishment and operation of Tam Lap 1 Industrial Cluster in Dong Tam Hamlet with a total area of over 60 hectares. This industrial cluster attracts businesses in wood processing, garment, construction material production, food, etc. Currently, the whole commune has 6 factories producing and processing, 2 small-scale handicraft production facilities. The production and business of these enterprises are quite stable with an average annual growth rate of over 12%.
Mr. Dao Trong Quyet, Hung Hai Thinh Joint Stock Company, Investor of Tam Lap 1 Industrial Cluster said: “Currently, the industrial cluster has 1 tire factory, 1 packaging factory and there is still over 25 hectares of land to attract the tire industry to concentrate here to develop together into an area specializing in tire production for export to the US, European and regional markets”.
Along with Tam Lap 1 Industrial Cluster, Phu Giao district continues to expand its scale with the planning of Tam Lap 2 and Vinh Hoa industrial clusters to promote the advantages of large land fund, convenient location near important traffic routes such as DT741, DT750, DT749A, Bac Tan Uyen – Phu Giao – Bau Bang dynamic road; at the same time, the locality has also promoted administrative reform to shorten the time for granting business investment licensing procedures. The whole district currently has over 600 enterprises, industrial and handicraft production establishments including many economic sectors, attracting more than 4,000 workers to work.
Industrial clusters not only create jobs for local people but also contribute positively to local economic development.
Mr. To Van Dat, Chairman of Phu Giao District People’s Committee said: Implementing the direction of the Central Government and the province, Phu Giao district is striving for double-digit economic growth in 2025. To achieve that, the district is implementing a strategy for developing high-tech industry and agriculture, promoting the call for attracting businesses to invest in the area, organizing the groundbreaking of industrial parks and industrial clusters that have been announced for planning, encouraging businesses to invest in clean and environmentally friendly technology.
Mr. Dat added: “At the end of 2024, the district also organized the groundbreaking ceremony for Tam Lap 2 Industrial Cluster with a total area of 50 hectares and an investment capital of nearly 1,000 billion VND invested by Gia Dinh Group, expected to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2025. When put into operation, the cluster will prioritize attracting small and medium enterprises and cooperatives located outside the industrial parks and clusters in the southern districts to invest in production and business according to green – clean criteria, towards the goal of sustainable development of Binh Duong province”.
Towards sustainable agriculture
Along with industrial development, Phu Giao district identifies agriculture as an important foundation, therefore the locality has focused on promoting the development of key agricultural products, orienting the development of high-tech agriculture to create quality products.
Phu Giao district develops high-tech agriculture to increase product value, improve people’s lives and build a sustainable economy.
Currently, in Phu Giao district, there are more than 800 high-tech agricultural production facilities with a total area of over 1,400 hectares. Advanced models such as greenhouses, net houses, drip irrigation systems and automated management systems in production activities are being widely applied, bringing about clear results.
The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Phong in An Binh commune is one of the pioneers in approaching the model of growing melons in greenhouses in association with enterprises. On an area of 5,000m2, her family divides it into 6 greenhouses to grow many different varieties of melons in a rolling manner, with a harvest yield of 20 tons/crop. Every year, her family earns hundreds of millions of VND. Ms. Phong said: “My family has been implementing the model of growing melons indoors for more than 5 years, with higher economic efficiency than other crops on the same area. I myself am a member of the Kim Long High-Tech Cooperative, so all of my family’s products are purchased by the cooperative at stable prices.”
Modern agricultural models such as growing clean vegetables, fruit trees using automatic irrigation technology, aquaculture in controlled environments and agricultural production systems without using pesticides are being strongly developed in this locality. Currently, in Phu Giao district, there are more than 800 high-tech agricultural production facilities with a total area of over 1,400 hectares. Mr. To Van Dat said: “Currently, the district is also implementing the construction of a smart village in An Thai commune to apply high technology, develop the digital economy in production and business; at the same time, the district has been implementing vocational training programs, cooperating in training high-quality human resources to serve high-tech, green and sustainable industries and agriculture”.
With the right strategies and determination of the government, along with the consensus of the business community and people, Phu Giao is gradually affirming its position in the economic picture of the province. In particular, the harmonious development of industry and high-tech agriculture will be a solid foundation and continuously improve the quality of life of the people, contributing to making Phu Giao a locality with strong economic development in Binh Duong province.
